I work with a variety of different website developers which I call on depending on the nature of the project. For some clients, they just need to have someone on-hand to maintain their website and fix the odd issue. For others, there might be a more complex project or perhaps a website rebuild and a bigger team with wider skillsets are needed.

Project Management for web development

I have 15 years of experience as a digital project manager, sitting in-between the client and web developers. I have worked on a range of projects from e-commerce website builds, brochure sites, backend software, UX projects, 3D development and more. I speak both languages so I can transform a clients want-list into a proper technical brief.

This can save a huge amount of time and money. Without a proper brief and upfront estimate, a project is at risk of ‘scope creep’, where the initial scope of the project changes as it progresses and developers have to redo work or change direction. Ultimately, this can be very costly in terms of time and budget, so it pays to invest at the beginning in a proper technical brief with all the i’s dotted and t’s crossed.

This is where I come in. I translate the clients needs into something a web developer understands. I ask all the right questions at the beginning to scope out the right specification with no potential for scope creep.

I then manage day-to-day running of the project, sitting between the client and the web developers and ensuring everything runs on time and to brief.
